Suncoast Animal League is an animal shelter located in Palm Harbor, Florida. They service many pets in need, providing them with necessary veterinary care, loving foster homes and eventually wonderful forever homes! Not only do they make a huge impact locally, but they’ve also partnered with many incredible organizations and people nationwide, often lending a hand to out of state shelters in need or disaster relief programs.
Their success is hard to put into words. Any pet lover would agree that seeing a homeless pet in need get their chance at a forever home is something that warms the heart like no other. But Suncoast Animal League isn’t just any regular shelter, their pets see the highest success in not only being adopted but staying adopted! This success can be seen through the hundreds of Alumni that participated in the Alumni parade during Dogtoberfest! As hundreds of paws hit the ground marching, you could see the bright colors of the adorable Alumni bandanas that these pups proudly displayed!

The entire event went on for 5 and a half hours – the turnout was incredible to say the least. In the Lure Coursing alone, 80 dogs participated zooming around the course chasing the lure! The Weiner races also saw a great turnout and 3 lucky pups were named their 13th annual champions.

Longtime friends, Animal Health Care Clinic, played an amazing part in the festival -they provided a low-cost vaccine clinic. This clinic has been a sponsor to the festival for many years. They are often the clinic of choice for Suncoast Animal League when it comes to vaccines and spay/neuter surgeries for their foster animals.

All-in-all the event was enjoyed by many, but one of the most special results is the dozens of pets that got adopted out to their new homes! Adopters were met with wet kisses and wagging tails in the adoption tent as they matched with their new fur babies. As the day went on more and more pups had their wishes come true and were taken home to start their new lives!
