New affordable housing breaking ground in East Tampa

Blue Sky Communities broke ground in East Tampa during early March in preparation of the affordable apartment home community, The Adderley. The Adderley is set to bring 128 units of multi-family apartment homes to the area. Currently, Blue Sky Community has 22 active communities across the state of Florida. The Adderley will be their first community within the city of Tampa.

After its completion, the apartment home community will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, and amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, playground, fitness room, meeting room and a great room with a kitchenette. The floor plans span from 705 square feet to 1,250 square feet. To qualify for residence at The Adderley, applicants must earn less than 80 percent of the area’s median income (AMI).

During the ground breaking ceremony, Tampa City Councilman Luis Viera joined other dignitaries and Blue Sky Communities CEO, Shawn Wilson, for the presentation. This development has been made possible due to generous support from Truist Bank, the City of Tampa and Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
